At the end of December, I had the honor to collaborate with some amazing vendors for this stunning Kentucky styled shoot at The Carrick House in Lexington, Kentucky! Romantic red and burgundy with a mix of blues accented with nude and blush accented and inspired this shoot. The blue delphinium in the AMAZING florals by Lovely Leaves pays tribute to the University of Kentucky and was the perfect choice for the Lexington shoot!

The Carrick House is located in historic downtown Lexington and boasts a traditional Southern mansion with modern updates creating a gorgeous backdrop for Kentucky brides to say their vows. The house was clothed in vintage charm, with the most incredible chandeliers hanging through the house, along with gold tone vintage mirrors that ran from the ceiling to the floor. I’m slightly obsessed with those mirrors! The fireplaces that were located in some of the rooms are great accents and add to the southern charm of the house! There is even an outdoor fireplace that would be perfect for a cozy ceremony or a comfortable and stylish spot for a cocktail hour. For the outside area, Lovely Leaves hung giant urns overflowing with florals; in the parlor we used a gorgeous mix of greenery, garden roses, peonies and hydrangeas with bits delphinium to bring in the blues to accent the fireplace and tables.

Words from Giselle with Lovely Leaves: Flowers from Lovely Leaves were a gorgeous mix of red peonies, O’Hara garden roses, agapanthus, blue delphinium, hypericum berries, antique hydrangeas, ranunculus, snapdragons, ruskus, ivy, lemon leaf and hanging pepper berry. Bouquets and arrangements spilled over creating a lush, natural feel. We chose brass vases and candlesticks tying in with the eclectic yet traditional feel paired with modern gold flatware and gold-rimmed glasses. Bryant’s Rentals is the local favorite; they provided the China and linens in addition to stemware and flatware. The watercolor calligraphy menus (and stationery) were hand-dyed by Haley Michelle Designs and penned in metallic gold. I had the chance to meet Hayley last summer when I photographed her best friend’s wedding and I’m so excited to get to work with her on a professional level! She is seriously the sweetest, y’all!

One of my FAVORITE bridal botiques in Lexington is Twirl! They are absolutely amazing and collaborated with us so we could use a stunning Hayley Paige gown for the shoot! I am in LOVE with the corset top and the skirt of the dress. So elegant!  The bride also wore  a luscious mink coat, blue suede Manolos and a soft, delicate veil. Shelbi Ferguson is perfect for hair and make-up and would definitely take care of any bride on her wedding day! She created a beautiful up-do for our bride that fit well with the entire feel of the shoot.

We also had a small spice cake with cream cheese icing, along with some cute macaroons that was provided by Martine’s Pastries. It was AMAZING!  Champagnewas served in mix-matched vintage glasses that I wish I would have had at my wedding!

This shoot was such a fun and special collaboration of some the best and sweetest vendors in Lexington! I would recommend all of them over and over! I hope to work with all of them on a real wedding in the near future 🙂
